Friends,

You know that one of our parishioners is writing a popular blog about St. Luke’s, right? It’s humbling because she is an infinitely better writer than me, and I remain thankful for her. When I panic and realize I need to write something ASAP for the e-news, I examine my week and try to find where God has been working in my life and in the life of the Church. Clearly, Megan Costilow is doing the same thing in her blog called “Becoming Episcopalian”. I cannot tell you how much her reflections feed my soul. Instead of trying to find the Holy Spirit’s work, I can read her blog and see the spirit through her eyes.

I am off to do some priestly things, and rather than pumping out something quickly, I would like to submit her reflection on our annual picnic as this week’s devotion. I hope you enjoy!
