The service start outside as the sun is setting as we light the easter fire, and when we go inside BAM! Easter hits in full force as we sing the gloria at the top of our lungs. At St. Luke’s we are especially privileged to have a Bishop visit for our vigil where she will be baptizing, confirming and receiving new members of the Church. Churches that observe the Vigil often have hours of readings paired with music that tells the story of our salvation history. Considering we have the bishop and hopefully a large crowd for the Bishop to confirm, we keep these readings to a minimum so we can go out and enjoy a reception and oyster roast over the Easter fire.
