PT Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper Position:
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a medium-sized congregation in the Diocese of Virginia, seeks a part-time administrative assistant or bookkeeper to support the parish’s financial operations. The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining parish financial records, performing accounts payable functions, updating the general ledger system with budget and actual transactions, and supporting the Treasurer, Clergy, and staff with financial reporting and audit activities.
Applicants must have experience with QuickBooks, church and/or nonprofit financial operations, and payroll processing; be proficient with MS Office applications, especially Excel, and have a good computer aptitude to learn church software (ACS). The bookkeeper must be self-directed, attentive to detail, have strong communication skills, be flexible, and able to work with confidential information.
The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and office administration. Experience in membership data management a plus; ACS training will be provided if needed. Office hours will be 3 to 5 hours per day, two days per week; scheduling is flexible.
