Rector's Weekly Message

For over 33 years Jane Bourdow has helped the people of St. Luke's give glory to God through our hymns and service music.  This Trinity Sunday 2015 will be her final Sunday for the foreseeable future.  We will send her off with a feast after the 10 o'clock service and laden with gifts and tokens of our love.  Please join us!

Trinity Sunday is not for the sake of discoursing upon theological formularies about the Trinity.  It is the Sunday we celebrate the summation of God's self revelation as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit begun with the season of Advent and brought to wonderful fullness on the Day of Pentecost last Sunday. One of the most profound and joyful proclamations of our trinitarian faith is in the Shouting Prayer of Churchill Gibson, camp chaplain of Shrine Mont camps 1962-1983:

God loves the world!
God loves us!
God loves you!
I love you!
God loves me!
I love me!
Thanks be to God!
Amen! (Aaaamen!)

May God's love inspire, sustain, and empower you to be Christ's hands and feet in the world in the name of the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
